Pete Crow-Armstrong caps a Cubs-first back-to-back 30-30

A walk-off homer completed the first back-to-back 30-30 seasons in Cubs history, while a brick of unopened 1952 Topps packs set a $1.1 million record at REA.

Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5 with two homers against the crosstown White Sox on August 17, and the second one, a two-run walk-off in the 10th, doubled as his 30th steal to complete a 30-30 season. He is the first Cub in franchise history to do it in back-to-back years, and only the 10th player in MLB history at all. His rookie cards were already moving before this: a July 31 Yahoo Sports market report tracked them among the top 15 best-sellers in baseball over the prior 60 days, and his top card, a 2020 Bowman Chrome Draft auto Red Refractor numbered to 5, has sold for $35,400. His Bowman Chrome rookies are where collectors are looking.
