UPDATE: The MJ signed full 1986 Fleer box that closed Sunday night on eBay has taken a $588,000 haircut. The item closed at $1,488,100, but an eBay spokesperson said the highest confirmed bidder was actually $900,100. The site is changing the number to reflect the real sale

Rovell says the sealed, Jordan-signed 1986 Fleer wax box that appeared to set a record did not sell for what it looked like it did. Per an eBay spokesperson he cites, the highest confirmed bidder was $900,100, and eBay is revising the listed figure, walking back the $1,488,100 close we reported two days ago.

The Hobby Wire Notes Both Record Debut Patch 1/1s Surfaced in the Player's Hometown

Flagg's RDPA — pulled in Rhode Island. Flagg's from New England. Skenes' RDPA — pulled in LA. Skenes grew up in Orange County. The two biggest debut patches ever made both surfaced in the player's backyard. Coincidence? Probably. Someone talk us out of it. @CardPurchaser

The Hobby Wire lines up two of the biggest debut patch pulls ever made: Cooper Flagg's 1/1, whose valuation we tracked at $5 million, surfaced in Rhode Island, where Flagg is from, and Paul Skenes' 1/1 turned up in LA, near where Skenes grew up. Flagg's card was confirmed pulled in Rhode Island the day before, which makes the hometown symmetry the account is flagging hard to ignore.
