Heritage auction #50087 closed at $62.9 million, the largest sports auction total on record, with a T206 Wagner at $5.856 million and a PSA 8 Mickey Mantle at $3.721 million.

Auction #50087 closed August 21 to 23 and brought $62.9 million, which Sports Collectors Digest reports as the largest sports auction total ever held, past the record set in 2024. The named results behind it: the T206 Piedmont Honus Wagner in SGC Authentic at $5.856 million, a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 in PSA 9 at $1.5 million, a 1963 Sandy Koufax game-worn Dodgers jersey graded MEARS A8.5 at $1.3 million, and a 2006 Fleer buyback of Michael Jordan's 1986 rookie, BGS NM-MT+ 8.5 and numbered 11/23, at $1.2 million. Heritage's own results pages are not reachable from here, so every figure above is exactly as Sports Collectors Digest reported it.

2025-26 Topps Chrome Black Basketball releases August 27, with preorders open since July 28

Chrome Black is the shadow-heavy, autograph-driven corner of the Chrome line, and the 2025-26 basketball edition lands tomorrow. Collector Nation's release tracker has August 27, and Topps' own RIPPED hub and Beckett both list the same release, with preorders that opened July 28. The checklist spans stars, rookies, and legends, with a numbered-parallel run over the top of it.

2025-26 Panini Origins Basketball is listed for August 28, but the date has moved around

Collector Nation's tracker has Origins Basketball on August 28. Other listings put it at August 19, and both were flagged subject to change, so treat the date as unsettled until Panini says otherwise. What is not in dispute: hobby boxes carry two autographs and a memorabilia card each, the base set runs at least 100 subjects across current NBA veterans, rookies, legends, and NIL players, and the parallels run from Tessellated up to Black 1/1.

Topps sets September 28 for the general release of its 60-card KAWS MLB set, $124.99 a box

Topps built the set with KAWS, Fanatics, and Complex.com: 60 cards, three packs of four per box, mostly Yankees and Dodgers, on a 1990-inspired multicolor border carrying KAWS' XX symbol. An early limited release at Fanatics Fest NYC from July 16 to 19 sold out on site, so September 28 is the first shot most collectors get at it. Presales opened July 20 at $124.99 a box, and Topps lists the general release date as subject to change.

This Nolan Ryan rookie is signed by Nolan Ryan AND Jerry Koosman 👀 A 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan/Jerry Koosman Rookie Dual Signed PSA 8 sold recently for $26,840.

The 1968 Topps #177 Mets Rookie Stars card carries Ryan and Koosman together, so a dual signature puts two Mets arms on one piece of cardboard instead of the usual one. This copy graded PSA 8.
