Named collection buy reported by Just Collect; Gibson's rookie is card #514 in the 1959 Topps set.

A 1959 Topps Hall of Fame lot nearly tossed, Bob Gibson's rookie #514 the standout

Just Collect bought a 1959 Topps collection that a seller named Lee almost threw out while clearing a relative's belongings. It runs deep: Mantle, Aaron, Mays, Clemente, Koufax, and Frank Robinson, with Bob Gibson's rookie card (#514) singled out on the strength of his 1.12 ERA in 1968, a mark still unmatched 58 years later. The cards had been sitting in plastic Ziplock bags before Just Collect looked them over.
